A Vision of Flight
The author Celia Ferguson produced the book A Vision of Flight: The Aerial Photography of Alfred G. Buckham back in 2007. She wrote this book after having seen Alfred’s photograph of Edinburgh in the the Herald magazine. She was deeply moved by the image and wished to find out more about the photographer. Finding their to be a dearth of information about him, she decided to research his life and photographs further. The result was the book, which not only contains fascinating information about him, but also includes many of his stunning photographs, including the Edinburgh photograph itself.
The History Press, who are the publishers of the book, performed a reprint during 2008 as a result of running out of stock. However, again stocks of the book are low. Hopefully, the History Press will perform another print run, but currently obtaining a new copy of the book is not easy. Second hand copies of the book are occasionally obtainable through the likes of eBay or Amazon.
